PROFESSIONAL CAREER

1975-78 : Started the career as commerce lecturer at the reputed S. Nijalingappa College in Bangalore.
1979-82 : Appointed as the Asst. Director in the Dept. of Youth Services, Govt. of Karnataka.
1980 : Appeared for civil service and selected as Asst. collector of customs from UPSC.
Honour of being the first candidate to write the entire exam of UPSC in the mother tongue - Kannada Language and selected as Assistant collector, Customs
Denied to join the central service with the love for the land Karnataka and language Kannada.

1982 : Passed the Karnataka Administrate Services Exam and entered into state services as class I cadre- Asst. Commissioner with distinction.

1982-84 : Probationer as Asst. Commissioner at Dharwad.
1984-86 : Appointed as Deputy Director in the Department of Food and Civil Supplies at Dharwad Dist.
1985 : Participated in the All India Kannada Literary conference at Dharwad. Presented an essay- Kannada in Administration' and received good appreciations.
Since beginning evinced a lot of interest in Kannada Literature, Culture, Dramas and Music
1986 : First authored Collection of literary articles in Kannada- `Chinthana Chilume' released at Dharwad.
1986-89 : Served as the Asst. Commissioner and Sub Divisional magistrate in Mangalore, Sub Divisional at Dakshina Kannada District.
1989-90 : Served as the Administrative officer, Directorate of Economics and statistics Bangalore
1990-91 : Served as the Secretary, Karnataka Housing Board.

1991-95 : Served as the Special Deputy Commissioner (Dev.) and Ex-Officio project Director for Dist Rural Development Board, Bangalore Urban Dist.
1995 : Served as the Secretary, Karnataka Slum Clearance Board.
1996 : Authored, collection of Essay “Chintana Kirana”.
1997-99 : Served as the Special Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Bangalore urban District & Additional District magistrate.
2000 : Served as the Secretary, Karnataka Development Authority.
2002-03 : Served as the Director, Kannada and Culture Dept.
2003-04 : Served as the Chief Executive officer, Bangalore Rural Zilla Panchayath
2004 : Presented the thesis : `Vachangalalli Samajika Chintane' (The Social thoughts in Vachana literature) and got the D.lit from the prestigious Kannada University, Hampi.

2004-06 : Served as the Managing Director, Karnataka State Warehousing Corporation.
On 1.2.2007 Promoted to the Indian Administrative Service.
2007 : Served as the Director, Karnataka Tourism, Government of Karnataka.
2008-12 : Served as the Deputy Commissioner, Tumkur Dist. for 3 years, 6 months and responsible for many innovative development programs
2012-13 : Served as the Director, Karnataka State Agricultural Marketing Department.
2013 : Served as the Commissioner of Excise
1.1.2013 : Promoted to the Supertime Scale in IAS and Continued as the Commissioner of Excise.
2013 : Served as the Secretary, Dept. of Youth Services.
2013 : Served as the Managing Director, Karnataka State small Industries Development Corporation Ltd.

2013 : Secretary, co-operation Department, Government of Karnataka.
2014 : Retired from Government Service.
2015 Started Dr.C.Somasekhara Sarvamangala Sahitya Seva Prathistana.
Served as vice president of Indian Red Cross Society Karnataka branch.
Served as working president of Akhila Bharatha Sharana Sahitya Parishath.

LITERARY AND CULTURAL EXCELLENCE

Participated in Hundreds of Debates and Essay Competitions during the Student days
Presently acclaimed as one of the Best speakers of the State, Specially on Vachana Sahitya.
Interviewed various senior cultural and literary dignitaries for Doordarshan.
Acted in several Dramas, Serials and Cultural events on Doordrashan
Served as the president of KAS officers Association during 1998-99.
Founder President of Basava Vedike from the year 1991 which has instituted the prestigious “Basavashri” and “Basava Shaithyashri” awards.
Worked as the Executive President of the renowned film lyric writter Chi. Udayashankara Award Committee.
Presided over the prestigious Taluk Kannada Sahithya Conference at Hoskote in 2004.
2007 - Presided over Bangalore district Sharana Sahithya Sammellana.
2007 - Authored a collection of Essay’s “Chintana Chethana”
Presided over the District Kannada Literary Conference held at Vijayapura Chikkaballapura District.
Organized a mammoth Tumkur District Utsav with the participation of national level Artists and Dignitaries for the first time in the history of Tumkur Dist., The Artists partricipated are Smt. Hemamalini, S.P. Balasubramanyam, Usha Uttappa, Vasundara Das, Shubha Malgudi, Shobana, Kavitha Krishnamurthy and other National & International fame Artists. Acclaimed as Culture Ambassador.
